CunninLynguists – Strange Journey Volume One Review

Strange Journey Volume One

Now I’m not one to review any albums for several reasons. 1. being I listen to albums for months before my opinion is complete. 2. I’m a hater. 3. it takes some of the fun away. So this review is done MY WAY

Ok If you kno (pun haha) the CunninLynguists then you  know, production (handled by Kno) is ALWAYS dope.  And Strange Journey Volume One is no different. The production is top notch throughout. If I had to use one word to describe it, mellow would be it, but that wouldn’t really justify it.

Lyrically Deacon and Natti deliver. Now I’ll be honest, I can’t delve deep into it because I’ll have to listen to it 5+ more times to give an accurate
detail on Deacon and Natti murdering the release. As far as guests, they kill it. From Inverse (Tunji what up) to Killer Mike to Khujo Goodie to PACK FM to Slug (Atmosphere), they mesh very well.

The CD flows very well, which is an under rated quality. I wouldn’t skip any particular song but I would definitely keep few on repeat. Tracks MOVE, SPARK MY SOUL and DON”T LEAVE are the stand out tracks.

It on iTunes now, and Hard Copies hit stores June 30 if CunninLynguists myspace is correct.
