It’s funny to think that so much music I heard at 5 yrs old stuck with me. That it had such profound impact at such a young (albeit influential) age. So, just like with dr dre and ATCQ, the first time I heard Nirvana I was all in. I’m sure it was the smells like teen spirit video. But I instantly fell in Love with them. We all only really had a short time with Kurt Cobain’s genius. And based on montage of heck, we would’ve gotten to keep him around even longer had they solved his stomach ailment (maybe). I do believe we watched this live and I know I watched the many replays of the unplugged special. I remember my mom being a little scared of my fascination when Kurt bugged out at the mtv awards performance and started smashing his guitar on stage, for no apparent reason. Luckily our home was without censorship so I was allowed to continue being enamored with the tortured star. I hope the universe freed Kurt from his pains. He was truly a gift.
