Night ride

There is a unique comfort in traveling in the blanket of the night sky with music as your companion. Ever since I was a youngin roaming the streets looking for a place to sleep. All I ever had was my backpack, my music and the moon’s glow. I’ve spent a ton of time alone (a heaping amount of that time by choice). I sometimes let my mind go crazy and destroy me. It’s a fatal flaw I have. It’s rare that I’m at ease. But traveling with the stars over my head calms my mind and soul. I start to focus my thoughts and organize in a much healthier way.

Last night I had another one of these nights. I was driving home from a friend’s house with musica in my ears and night covering me up (& my backpack in the passenger seat). It allowed me to collect some thoughts that had been eluding me. Issues far from dead but at least I got a better grasp. The times when I wasn’t organizing the files in my brain and heart? I was simply lost in the music. Which is dangerous when you don’t remember driving over the hill and then you’re going 70 headed to a red light. Haha. But fuxk it. I needed it. Badly.

I’m still learning to let go. There’s a few things I’m not quite ready to throw away. Might not ever be. But there’s a healthier way to store it within. I’ll get there. In due time. Time. It’s all we have, yet there’s never enough. C’est la vie.
