Little Brother: Where art thou?
I haven’t ranted for a while. This rant is more about comparison and feeling.
Little Brother. One of the best Hip-Hop groups EVER; with and without 9th. I wish they kept 9th as the producer, but it is what it is. Little Brother = A Tribe Called Quest. for me at least. They give me the same feel. Like when Dilla started producing for ATCQ, is the same for LB when 9th departed. Both were still dope, but they were clearly on a new path. The first 3 ACTQ cd’s were CLASSIC, no questions asked. Same goes for The Listening and The Minstrel Show. I feel like these 2 groups have so many parallels. With Tip and Phonte being top Tier MC’s and loving to push the boundaries and blend genres. While Phife Diggy and Big Pooh being the more traditional spitters. Now ATCQ did split, and LB technically hasn’t, but you can see how they are very much the same. New Tribe cd? not gonna happen. New LB cd? maybe, hopefully. Time will tell.
